Highlights FAQ for Apex Clients
What's the real difference between highlights and balayage?
Foil highlights lift color from root to tip with more precision and more brightness. Balayage is hand-painted and softer overall. A lot of clients end up blending both in the same appointment.
How often do highlights need a touch-up?
Foil highlights grow out faster than balayage. Plan on a refresh every 6 to 10 weeks depending on how close to the root we placed them.
Can I get highlights if my hair is already color-treated?
Usually, yes. We check your hair's history at consultation and build a lightening plan that's safe for what's already there. Olaplex and K18 are part of every lightening service we do.
